I write poetry and articles on art and ecology, the role of art in society, and the importance of natural systems and biodiversity in the physical and spiritual well-being of individuals, communities, and the planet. My poetry reflects these concerns.

Pat Nolan was born in Montreal, Canada in 1943, but has lived most of his adult life along the Russian River in Northern California. He is a poet, translator, editor, and publisher.
His poetry and prose have been published in numerous magazines, among them Rolling Stone, The Paris Review, Big Bridge, New Magazine, The American Book Review, Otolith, and Exquisite Corpse as well as in literary magazines in Europe and Asia.
Jonah is a former Freelance journalist, book reviewer for the SF Chronicle and Press Democrat, as well as a former chair of communication studies at Sonoma State University, turning his focus to poetry in the 1990’s.
